Snowy Plover nest, an Endangered species

while the nests are relatively inapparent to visually hunting predators, they can be found by smell or by observing the parents - humans and dog walkers are excluded from the are and you are looking over the rope line to keep people out

the Sage Grouse nest I posted above is similarly disguised from visually hunting predators, and for or grass cover is critical to hide their nests
